Mr. Scott, Dimmitt’s new Technology Instructor, is starting a Robotics Club FTC Challenge after school on Mondays at Dimmitt in Room 140. Nearly 20 students are interested already! He is looking for parents or staff willing to help. For more information on the program, go to usfirst.org. Please contact Mr. Scott if you are interested – firstname.lastname@example.org or (425) 204-2871.
Our first PTSA meeting will be Thursday, October 2nd at 6:00 p.m. in the School Library, instead of Thursday, September 18th. As part of agenda, Principal Anna Horton will discuss the new standards-based grading program. All are welcome; you do not have to be a member to attend.
We still encourage you to come to Dimmitt on the 18th for the Back-to-School BBQ & Curriculum Night. The BBQ (hamburgers, chips & juice) is free for Dimmitt families and starts at 5:00 p.m., followed by Curriculum Night from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m., where you can learn about opportunities for families, meet your student’s teachers, visit classrooms and learn about the academic programs and curriculum.
Welcome back to school! Dimmitt PTSA is excited to support the academic and extracurricular activities happening at Dimmitt and hope you’ll join us. Here’s a link to the 2014-2015 Membership Application – Dimmitt PTSA Membership Form 2014-2015. Forms can be returned with payment to the Dimmitt front office, or brought to the first meeting (Sept. 18th).
We’re also excited to offer new Dimmitt spiritwear to complement items offered by ASB:
Here’s a link to the order form – Spiritwear Order Form. You can fill it out and return it with payment to the Dimmitt front office. You can also order the sweatpants and pajama pants online at https://c9sportsm.tuosystems.com/stores/dimmitt-middle-school. Orders are being accepted until Friday, September 26th. Items will be delivered mid-October. We do have about 15 pairs of socks on hand now, first come, first serve. Orders for socks and beanies will only be placed if we receive a minimum of 24 for each.
